“Friendship is a treasure which anybody can buy but be prepared to pay a lot — the purchase price is high. It costs in time and patience, and a wealth of selfless deeds. Giving and forgiving and fulfilling special needs. It costs in understanding, in listening and in caring. It costs in sweet forbearance, in loving, and in sharing. Yes, friendship is a treasure, and though the cost is high, the more you pay, the more it’s worth as time goes passing by.”

GBC PHOTO & VIDEO GALLERY

Our church family is a close-knit and loving one. Just like any other family, we love to share pictures of our activities, milestones, achievements, growth, and memorable ministry and mission experiences. If you’d like to have your spirits brightened, your mood elevated, get that surge of happiness and flare of joy by seeing those you love in times of fellowship assisting each other while showing genuine kindness, helpfulness and gratitude with their brothers and sisters.

YOU ARE WELCOME TO VIEW & ENJOY THEM WITH US BELOW

First called “The Baptist Church” by a congregation that walked or rode by cart from a ten-to-twelve-mile radius to worship in the late 1800’s. “Gadara Baptist Church” was officially organized in 1876 and named after the strong biblical city in Israel, 6 miles southeast of the Sea of Galilee. The church “home” had been moved from an old log cabin that burned to the ground, to an old mill on “Baptism Lake” (now Lake Johnson in the Gold Head Branch State Park) to its permanent location in 1955 and has grown through several building stages, including the addition of a Fellowship Hall in 2022.

We have a real heart to see little hearts learn about Jesus! Our Kids’ Bible Club ministry is to guide children to learn, believe, accept, and share God’s Word. We hope to fill the children’s minds with the Word of God so they will grow to think the way God thinks and have a passion for living for Jesus. We want to teach the children that Jesus is the only Way, the Truth, and the Life. We strive to instill godly values and morals in their lives, so that they may be a light that not only affects those around them but also glorifies our Heavenly Father. KBC meets every Tuesday during the school year at 3 pm and is for Kids in Grades K through 6th.

GBC is proud to sponsor AHG Troop 7884 and honor the rich tradition and mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. American Heritage Girls is a Christ-centered character and leadership scouting-like development program for girls aged 5 to 18. Our Troop meets at 6:30 pm every Monday at the church when school is in session.

F.A.I.T.H. Riders are people from all areas of life with a common interest — enthusiasm for motorcycles. This is a Southern Baptist church ministry, not a riding club, and our sole purpose is to share God’s life-changing Good News while creating or attending practical ministry opportunities. The command of God implores us to preach the Gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). F.A.I.T.H. Riders take this calling seriously as the lifeblood of its existence. Through this ministry, bikers and others are learning about Jesus Christ and His gift of salvation and eternal life in Heaven with Him by reaching people through riding motorcycles who may not normally step foot into an organized church. It’s putting rubber, as well as shoe leather, onto the Gospel message.

(KNOWN)  Several evangelistic trips to Yaviza, Panama to work with children and families there and out into the mission field into areas who have not heard the Word of God preached. Financial support has helped Pastor Rojas build ___________________________ and helped fund their outreach to Neuvo Salto, a village accessible only by boat (piragua).

You’ll find that our Music Ministry is not an “entertainment” style of worship. Our Pastor and Worship Leader see hymns as poetic theology of our faith, and many are worth singing as devotionals. You can expect faithful traditional praise and worship style music, including Scripture in worship, with encouragement for the congregation to participate in song.

Christians sometimes say that the church is a people, not a place. It’s true that a church remains a church even when it’s not gathered, just like a “team” is a team even when the members aren’t gathered to play ball. But a church is an empty shell until it includes a family gathering within its walls, with a common goal or purpose, in fellowship with others who love God.

Having fun just seems to follow!
